**TJ Truck Driver**
**Location:** Tyler, TX ****Job Summary****
Operates a trailer jockey to move tractor/trailers to designated locations within distribution center property. Drives a tractor/trailer to transport goods to and from Company distribution centers. Follows safety practices and rules of the Company and Department of Transportation at all times.
****Essential Duties and Responsibilities****
* Maintains organization of the yard by moving trailers in and out of shipping/receiving doors based on daily warehouse needs.
* Transports general merchandise trailers to and from various Company distribution facilities; delivers food and related product orders directly to retail stores.
* Complies with tractor/trailer Department of Transportation (DOT) rules and regulations at all times.
* Works with dispatch and warehouse partners by communicating, sequencing, and conducting movement coordination through a two-way radio.
* Monitors and adjusts refrigeration trailer temperatures by regularly inspecting to ensure quality of product meets food safety standards.
* Assists drivers with maintenance of equipment as needed.
* Completes pre and post-inspections of both tractor and trailer and fills out inspection reports accordingly.
****Knowledge, Skills and Abilities****
* Intermediate knowledge of state and federal motor vehicle laws.
* Basic mathematical skills.
* Ability to use DOT electronic logging device.
* Ability to successfully complete mechanical aptitude and other maintenance related evaluations.
* Ability to occasionally travel to off-site and out-of-town locations with possible overnight stays.
* Ability to work on-call and flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays.
* Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy and productivity.
* Ability to organize, prioritize and manage time.
* Ability to communicate effectively in written or verbal form.
* Ability to reason, form concepts, and recognize and solve problems.
* Ability to comprehend and interpret information.
****Education, Experience, and Qualifications****
* High school Diploma or GED and six or more months of related experience required.
* Completion of vocational or technical school preferred.
* Minimum of 25 years of age required.
* Class A Commercial Drivers License (CDL) required.
* Food Handler certification required.
* Continuously required to drive.
* Continuously required to use close vision, distance vision, depth perception, or the ability to focus.
* Continuously required to sit for long periods of time.
* Continuously required to use hands for reaching, touching, or handling.
* Frequently required to talk and hear.
* Occasionally required to bend, kneel, or squat.
* Occasionally required to stand or walk.
