Job Description

The Detailer cleans and refurbishes new and pre-owned automobiles. Conforms to dealership and/or manufacturer specifications and time allowances. Benefits

Responsibilities: Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to the following; other duties may be assigned.
  • Providing excellent customer service to internal and external customers at all times.
  • Promoting an understanding of, and strong commitment to client satisfaction.
  • Promoting and understanding of, and strong commitment to the Gulfport Team.
  • Washing vehicle exterior, cleans interior and exterior windows and wipes down doorjambs.
  • Applying wax to auto body, and wiping or buffing surface.
  • Vacuuming interior of vehicles to remove loose dirt and debris.
  • Cleaning upholstery, rugs, and other surfaces, using appropriate cleaning agents, applicators, and cleaning devices.
  • Applying revitalizers and preservation agents to interior vinyl or leather surfaces and treats fabrics with spot- and stain-resistant chemicals.
  • Cleaning engine and engine compartment with steam-cleaning equipment and various cleaning agents.
  • Applying special-purpose cleaners to remove foreign materials which normal cleaning procedures do not remove, utilizing experience and judgment, and following product manufacturer's recommendations.
  • Inspecting vehicles for noticeable defects, such as dents, scratches, torn upholstery, and poor mechanical operation.
  • Restoring appearance of engine area, rugs and upholstery, and painted surfaces. Using touch-up paint, dyes, and other appropriate materials.
  • Using proper eye, hand, and body protection when using products that require protection.
  • Filling vehicle with fuel.
  • Applying dressing on tires and tire wells.
  • Replacing missing or defective small parts.
  • Maintaining showroom and stock vehicles in clean and presentable condition at all times.
  • Ensuring proper stickers are displayed in the vehicle's window.
  • Removing all window stickers on sold vehicles.
  • Keeping work area neat and clean.
Qualifications
  • Previous detailer experience.
  • Appears for work on time, dressed appropriately, and ready to work.
  • Follows directions from a supervisor.
  • Interacts effectively with co-workers.
  • Understands and follows posted work rules and procedures and all company policies.
  • Accepts constructive criticism with motivation towards improvement in job performance.
  • Required education: high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must have clean & valid driver's license
