Job Description

Description of the role: The Automotive Dealership Receptionist at Harrisonburg Honda plays a crucial role in providing exceptional customer service and ensuring smooth operations at the dealership. As the first point of contact for customers, the receptionist represents the dealership and sets the tone for the overall customer experience. Responsibilities:

  • Welcome and greet customers in a friendly and professional manner
  • Answer phone calls, direct calls to appropriate departments, and provide accurate and timely information to callers
  • Assist customers with inquiries, appointments, and general information about the dealership
  • Maintain a clean and organized reception area
  • Handle customer complaints and escalate issues when necessary
  • Coordinate with other departments to ensure seamless customer service
  • Complete administrative tasks such as filing, faxing, and data entry
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prior experience in a customer-facing role preferred
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficient in basic computer skills and familiar with office equipment

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Operate switchboard telephone system
  • Communicate with callers in a professional, friendly and efficient manner, striving to minimize the amount of time customers spend on hold.
  • Assist the General Manager with various clerical duties as needed and as directed by the GM.
  • Be friendly, professional, courteous and efficient when working with all customers and employees.
  • Evening and weekend shifts are scheduled and mandatory.
  • Handle customer complaints with integrity and poise and take or refer the complaining customer to the appropriate individual for further communication.
  • Must direct phone traffic to the proper personnel and departments.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Experience using Microsoft Office suite
  • Ability to work effectively with customers, vendors and employees while handling multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Must be willing to submit to a drug screen & background check
